What is the Christian Faith all about?
Christianity is really all about relationships rather than rules. it's about a Person rather than a philosophy.
It's actually all about the relationship we were born to have - the relationship with the God who made us.
Jesus, who we believe was God himself come to live among us, said there are two things in life which are so, so important:
It really is all about relationships!
It's a life long journey where we gradually learn more about God, about ourselves and about each other and it's a journey we walk with God himself who promises never to leave us, even through the toughest times of our lives.
But every relationship has to begin somewhere. To begin to follow Jesus isn't to have all the answers (none of us in the church do!) rather it's to recognise that there's something special about him, that he can offer us hope when all seems hopeless and purpose in life when we don't know where we're going.
Christians believe that Jesus was executed on a cross, died and rose again. In doing so he made it possible for us all to know the God who made us and loves us. He shows the depths of that love - loving us quite literally to (his own) death. Because of the cross we know God knows what it is to suffer and who will stand by us and even carry us, whatever life may bring.
